Privacy Policy

We design Lifespan around local gameplay first. Some optional features, including iCloud Save Sync, Game Center leaderboards, Game Center friends, and HeartLink QR sharing, may process limited data only when you choose to use them.

Overview

Effective date: May 7, 2026

Lifespan is a life simulation game for iOS. Core game progress is stored locally on your device by default. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use cross-app tracking for advertising.

Data We Collect or Process

  • Local game data: saves, settings, character progress, achievements, and in-game choices are stored on your device.
  • Optional iCloud save data: if you turn on iCloud Save Sync, save slot files are stored in your own Apple iCloud account through Apple's iCloud service.
  • Optional Game Center data: if you use leaderboards or friends, Apple Game Center may process your public Game Center display name, Game Center player identifier, leaderboard scores, ranks, friend list access status, and related metadata.
  • Optional HeartLink QR data: if you choose to share or scan a HeartLink QR profile, the QR may include limited in-game character profile data used to import a potential partner.
  • Support email: if you contact us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include.
  • Camera permission: used only for in-app QR scanning features, when you grant permission.

iCloud Save Sync

iCloud Save Sync is optional. Local saves remain available when it is off.

When enabled, Lifespan copies your save slot files to the app's iCloud Documents container for your Apple ID, so you can restore progress on another device signed into the same Apple account.

Lifespan does not run its own cloud save server for this feature. iCloud is provided by Apple and is governed by Apple's terms and privacy practices.

Game Center Leaderboards

Lifespan can submit leaderboard scores to Apple Game Center for categories such as income, net worth, longest life, and children.

Leaderboards display public Game Center display names. Lifespan does not receive or display your private Apple ID name or Apple ID email address.

Game Center is provided by Apple. Your use of Game Center is also governed by Apple’s terms and privacy practices.

Game Center Friends

Lifespan can optionally show Game Center friends and friend-only leaderboard views when you sign into Game Center and allow friend access.

Friend requests and approvals are handled by Apple Game Center. Lifespan does not run its own friends server or custom account system for this feature.

Camera Access

Lifespan requests camera permission only to scan HeartLink QR codes or similar in-app QR features.

The camera feed is used for scanning on your device. Lifespan does not use camera permission for advertising or background recording.

Sharing

The app can generate shareable content, such as QR images or profile-style information, when you choose to share it through the iOS share sheet.

You control when and where content is shared. Third-party apps or services you share to may have their own privacy practices.

In-App Purchases and Tracking

  • The current free release has no real-money products configured.
  • If paid products are added later, purchases will be processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store.
  • Lifespan does not use cross-app tracking for advertising.

Data Deletion

You can remove local game data by deleting the app or clearing in-game save data where available.

iCloud save data and Game Center leaderboard data are managed through Apple. To manage your Apple account, iCloud, or Game Center profile, use iOS Settings and Apple's account tools.
