Terms of Service
These terms apply when you download, access, or use Lifespan. They keep the essentials clear without turning a game into a wall of legal language.
1. Acceptance
Effective date: July 21, 2026
By using Lifespan, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
2. Personal-use license
Lifespan grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for entertainment on devices you own or control, subject to app-store rules. You may not sell, rent, reverse engineer, redistribute, bypass security, or commercially exploit the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.
3. Fictional game content
Lifespan is a fictional life simulation. Characters, currencies, careers, relationships, markets, crimes, health events, contracts, and outcomes are gameplay systems and are not professional financial, medical, legal, relationship, immigration, or career advice.
The game may include mature themes such as violence, death, crime, alcohol, drugs, gambling-like simulations without real-money wagering, dating, and family events. Follow the content rating and guidance shown by your regional app store.
4. Saves, updates, and availability
Game saves can be lost because of deletion, device failure, operating-system behavior, corruption, updates, or unsupported modifications. Keep any device backups you consider appropriate. We may add, change, rebalance, repair, or remove gameplay, content, compatibility, or optional services as Lifespan evolves.
We work to keep Lifespan available and reliable, but no uninterrupted or error-free operation is guaranteed.
5. HeartLink QR and sharing
HeartLink QR and device sharing tools are optional. Share only content you have the right to share, do not include sensitive real-world information, and respect the privacy and safety of other people. You are responsible for where you post or send content exported from the app.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Lifespan, its sharing features, or its support channels to break the law, threaten or harass others, distribute malware, impersonate someone, infringe rights, interfere with the app, exploit bugs for commercial gain, or attempt unauthorized access to services or data.
7. App stores and external services
Apple, Google Play, Discord, TikTok, email providers, and other external services have their own terms, privacy rules, and availability. Their services are not controlled by Lifespan. Your use of an app store is also governed by that store's terms.
The current Android release does not require a Lifespan account or configure real-money in-app products. If purchases or additional online services are added later, the applicable store terms and updated disclosures will apply.
8. Disclaimers and responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Lifespan is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app where such limits are legally permitted. Nothing in these terms removes consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Suspension, termination, and changes
You may stop using Lifespan at any time. We may restrict access to online or shared features when needed to protect users, comply with law, or respond to misuse. We may revise these terms; the effective date will be updated and material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
